Victoria era Micro Vernier rifle sight adjuster. These were used to adjust the rear sight of the Enfield ML’s, Sniders, Martinis and Long Tom rifles when used for long range target shooting. They were placed against the rear sight ladder and by using the screw at the top, the elevator could be finely adjusted. These are well made and were very expensive in their time. I believe this one is made from solid German Silver. It has ” H. Drew, Wanganui” scratched onto it and I think it may be followed by “Home Guard”. Drew was a well established Jeweller in Wanganui around 1900.

Condition is very good with some very minor age scratches.
