Scarce 9mm Spanish Model 1920 Jo.Lo.Ar. pistol. Very few of these pistols are known to have survived and are sort after by collectors around the world. They were manufactured by the Spanish arms company “Star” and issued to the Spanish cavalry who were still operating on horseback up until and during the Spanish Civil War. They were manufactured with a side lever allowing a horse rider to cock the pistol with one hand while holding the reins with the other. Upon firing, the recoil caused the lever to swing forward, clear of the trigger finger. There is a side button which releases the breech end of the barrel which pops up to aid cleaning or the loading of 1 round if required.

The barrel is 6 inches long and I understand they also made them with a 4 inch barrel.

Condition is very good with much blue remaining. There is some loss of blue to the sharp corners due to holster wear as well as adjacent to the grips. The bore is excellent and the grips complete.

Here is a very interesting pistol for the collector of military pistols. I have only known of 3 here in NZ.
