Approx 40 Bore, matching pair of Flintlock pistols by Archer of London. Archer was making guns from 1750-1790. These pistols are slightly unique in that you can screw the barrels off and load both the powder and ball directly at the base of the barrel. These are commonly referred to as “Turn Off” barrels. This enabled a slightly larger diameter bullet to be used which then compressed as it passed through the barrel, retaining more gas, giving more velocity and better accuracy.

The triggers are folding (dropping down when the action is cocked) making them more compact. The guns each have a sliding safety which prevents the Cock from falling.

The grips are one piece Walnut and have unmarked name shields as can be seen in the pictures.

Overall length is 7 inches with 3 inch barrels.

Condition is very good and what you would expect for guns that are approximately 250 years old.

Please note, all pricing is in New Zealand dollars.
