Guns for Sale
Pair 12ga Thomas Bland & Son fully engraved shotguns manufactured around 1937. The barrels are marked Thomas Bland & Son, 5 William IV Street, The Strand, London. These guns are near matching in all respects but “are not” a matching numbered pair. They have come to me from a local estate, and it is known they were purchased at the same time. Included is an original Purdey Oak and Leather double gun case which was never originally associated with these guns; however, I found the case suited them and a convenient way to store them.
The bores are really nice and both guns have split ejectors. Length of chambers are 2 1/2 inches. They are both Nitro Proofed.
Condition is excellent with some loss of blue to the barrels. Much original case hardening remains. The wood is excellent with some marking and scratches due to normal use. The actions are tight. The leather case is in very good condition but showing wear to the outside leather due to years of handling.
Here are a pair of nice English guns that deserve more research and are still capable of being used today.
Please note, all pricing is in New Zealand dollars.
